We host a monthly all-member meeting, a monthly social night (MAEVEn Night Out or In), and we have a standing weekly playground meetup at a local park. Our age-based playgroups (All Baby, Toddler, Preschool, School Age) and interest groups (Craft Circle, Book Club, LGBTQIA+ group, Expectant Parents and more) often host monthly meetups as well, and there are special programs that happen throughout the year - like our annual Black History Month event, our quarterly kids clothing/gear swap, occasional Partner Nights Out, holiday celebrations and regular service activities.

Participation is not required, however, we encourage members to take advantage of all the opportunities we have to offer. Whichever activities work for your family, please join! And if you feel apprehensive about joining something for the first time, reach out to us and we are glad to help make you feel supported.

Nope! We do have vibrant virtual discussion happening every day in our Facebook Groups and WhatsApp chats, but you do not need to participate to connect with neighbors at events offline. A Google calendar and monthly newsletter will keep you informed of what’s going on and how to participate.

MAEVE West Adams is a member-supported non-profit, and we ask members to consider making a sliding-scale membership contribution. The bulk of our operational costs, community and members-only programming, and charitable service is supported by the generous contributions of our members. More member contributions result in more service and improved member benefits. All that said, you can contribute whatever is comfortable for your family, and a contribution is not required to join. Money should never be a barrier to joining MAEVE, and the vast majority of our events and programs are free to members.
