Why MAEVE?

Welcome to your new village! There are so many ways MAEVE works to connect and enrich the lives of local families and our community.  Our mission is to not only serve as a resource for friendship but provide support for you and your family, and the opportunity to give back to the community.

  • Events

    A monthly MAEVE Night Out, a weekly park playdate, and 10+ events per month make it easy to meet other neighborhood parents and families. New faces are always welcome!

  • Service and Community Outreach

    MAEVE attracts members who want to give back to their community. We coordinate monthly service activities, and we offer many opportunities to volunteer at events like the Wellington Square Farmers Market, West Adams Jazz Fest, and CicLavia.

  • Groups

    Member-led groups connect neighbors with similar interests. Members can join our Book Club, Craft Circle, LGBTQIA+ Family Group, age-based playgroups, and more. Want to start a group? You can do that too.

  • Digital Community

    Our active, private online community on Facebook and WhatsApp are places for members to share ideas, resources, and emotional support. Share info on local schools, find a babysitter, vent about potty training, and everything in between.

  • Education

    We offer webinars on a range of parenting topics – from body safety to estate planning to navigating LAUSD school choice. Many are recorded and available for members to view at any time.

  • Pre-Baby Support

    Pregnant members can connect with our Expectant Parent group coordinator to meet other expecting families and connect to MAEVE resources early. Does this mean you can join MAEVE before you have a kid? Yes!
